Nimble yet powerful…

Light yet rich, such are the challenges of the bass trombonist. Reaching a reasonable balance of these forces that suits the players tastes can be a daunting task, but when working with Nick on his custom Long Island Brass Co mouthpiece, walking this tightrope was a breeze.

Nick’s mouthpieces offer a striking balance for anyone who wields them. Immediate response, with a robust sound anywhere on the horn is only the very beginning of what this unique design has to offer. But don’t take it from us, here’s a few words from the man himself:

Jeff has been absolutely great to work with and has come up with a truly excellent product.
— Nick Schwartz

“His mouthpieces are built with such precision and attention to detail. I feel comfortable in all ranges and dynamics and the sound is very even and warm up and down the horn. I really feel like I can use this mouthpiece on any style of music and in any musical setting from the orchestra pit, to the symphony hall, while still being flexible enough to play chamber music and recitals.”

Schwartz Contrabass Trombone Mouthpiece
from $284.00

Unlike many contrabass mouthpieces, Nick’s mouthpiece feels… well like a big trombone mouthpiece. Nick has been quoted saying, “(contrabass trombone) is an extension of the bass trombone, not just a musical chainsaw.” His signature mouthpiece allows player to get a more lyrical sound, but the smaller volume makes it much easier to get the edge when needed.
