Signature Series

"Mouthpiece make trombone sound good. Pretty too, make face look shiny. Play loud notes AND soft notes." - Meaty “no leadpipe” McGee*

If I had a nickel for every note I chipped on this mouthpiece, I’d have zero nickels. It’s literally impossible to miss notes with the Romero model.” - Saque T. Butte*

“I find that the sound spectrum of this mouthpiece is the closest to the choruses of the heavens themselves.” - Johann S. Bach (via seance)*

You should buy this mouthpiece. Buy 20 of them.” - Abraham Lincoln*

*The above statements are paraphrased and probably misattributed

The Long Island Brass Company Romero model is a trombone mouthpiece that delivers it all. As Principal Trombonist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and a successful soloist, composer, and chamber musician; Sasha Romero needs equipment that can withstand the loudest Strauss tone poem on stage and the most delicate Mozart chorus in the pit. The Romero Signature models do just that.

“The sound just leaps out of my thoughts, into the mouthpiece, and out the bell. It’s really incredible how easy it is to do whatever I want with it.”

“This is the first mouthpiece I’ve ever had that gives me a pedal C on tenor, and the high range is somehow even easier than before too. The whole horn just responds incredibly well.”

“I like the zippiness of the response, but it doesn’t feel sharp. It’s warm and easy to push against when I want mellowness, but I don’t have to worry about it fighting me.” - Sasha Romero

Specifications

  • NEW MODEL 525SR – 25.25mm/0.994” ID Rim, slightly smaller than a 6 1/2AL, this mouthpiece is designed to help you crush high repertoire without sacrifice to the power or vibrancy of sound.

    • 6.73mm/ .265” Throat

    • From Sasha: “It’s a more agile mouthpiece with very easy flexibility and articulation, and the sound is surprisingly big for the specs, so you get more compactness but without losing a characteristic orchestral sound. Also, it makes the high notes easier lol, and I can project quite a bit more on this compared to my 4 that I play on normally. The low notes are still there though, and I can easily hit pedal Ds and Cs on it”

    • Sasha plays and recommends the T1 backbore on this model.
