Romero Tenor Trombone Mouthpieces

“The sound just leaps out of my thoughts, into the mouthpiece, and out the bell. It’s really incredible how easy it is to do whatever I want with it.”

“This is the first mouthpiece I’ve ever had that gives me a pedal C on tenor, and the high range is somehow even easier than before too. The whole horn just responds incredibly well.”

“I like the zippiness of the response, but it doesn’t feel sharp. It’s warm and easy to push against when I want mellowness, but I don’t have to worry about it fighting me.” - Sasha Romero

Specifications

  • NEW MODEL 525SR – 25.25mm/0.994” ID Rim, slightly smaller than a 6 1/2AL, this mouthpiece is designed to help you crush high repertoire without sacrifice to the power or vibrancy of sound.

    • 6.73mm/ .265” Throat

    • From Sasha: “It’s a more agile mouthpiece with very easy flexibility and articulation, and the sound is surprisingly big for the specs, so you get more compactness but without losing a characteristic orchestral sound. Also, it makes the high notes easier lol, and I can project quite a bit more on this compared to my 4 that I play on normally. The low notes are still there though, and I can easily hit pedal Ds and Cs on it”

    • Sasha plays and recommends the T1 backbore on this model.

  • 550SR – 25.5mm/ 1.003” ID Rim, similar to a 5G, great for light orchestral work

    • 7.11mm/ .280” Throat

  • 600SR – 26mm/ 1.023” ID Rim, the perfect do-it-all and Sasha’s preferred mouthpiece

    • 7.11mm/ .280” Throat

  • 650SR – 26.5mm/ 1.043” ID Rim, similar to a 3G for days where you need more room

    • 7.11mm/ .280” Throat

  1. Backbore Designs
